OK so I am renting a basement suite we have experienced a n increased level of moisture in our place for the past couple years. Except this year I noticed what looks like the foundation falling away from the footer. Now my suspicion is that the is some sub structural damage causing the house to sink. He ( landlord) is trying to claim its because we had the heat too high. I know this guy is going to try and pin this on us. So my question is can we be the cause of this drop? I don't see any moisture on higher wall levels just buildup around the base.

You have to be kidding when you say the landloard blames you for having the heat to high?

Can you post a picture of the area you are talking about from the inside and also the outside wall?
