roofing insulation

I am getting ready to put a new roof on my house.

i have asphalt shingles on now. i will be installing 29 gauge galvalume

the way i would like to install the lathe under is.

1x4 centered every 24'' with styrofoam insulation between the 1x4

what type of styrofoam?

i was unaware their was so much to chose from

Is it a catherdral ceiling underneath? Not sure on why you want to use styrofoam between strapping?

Remove the shingles down to the decking, install high temp ice and water shield, blow insulation into the attic. You will have a higher "R" value. Just my :2cents:
