Hi,
The bricks on my house have black and white stains on them, almost as if they were painted black and the paint chipped away. I'd like them to look like simple red brick.

1. Are the bricks supposed to look this way?
2. If not, what happened to them?
3. What did they originally look like?
4. Most importantly: how can I make them prettier ?
