I have a ceiling leak in the sheetrock of two rooms in the basement. Problem occurs when I use the washing machine. Both spots leak when I use the washing machine. As a test, I took a garden hose and poured some water into the drain pipe opening and only one of the two ceiling spots showed wetness. Can I safely conclude that one leak is caused by the drain pipe and the other the water supply line into the washing machine? Any other suggestions on ways to isolate/determine the cause of the leak...Is the best bet to cut away some sheetrock to see whats going on?

Any help/thoughts is greatly appreciated....

NO you can not. The supply would be leaking even if the water was not being used. It is under pressure always. Cut open the ceiling and look for the leak. Repair the leak and then repair the ceiling.
