Folks,

We are installing new Hardwood treads and risers on our old Pre-fab staircase.

With the new parts, the treads will extend past the formed edge of the existing stair stringer.

Does anyone know if a filler strip/panel is made to build up the stringers?

Any other suggestions?

Please see attached sketch for approximate size needed for the filler.

TIA,

Rog Smith

I do not think you will find anything with that cut to it, you will have to make it with a router or use a peice of square stock and fill the gap with wood putty.

With a table saw you can cut your piece with two cuts just leaving that 1/16 on the edge to hide the old routering.
