If you have asphalt/fiberglass shingles or cedar shake this will work pretty well.
Please keep in mind that if you have moss and lichens growing on the roof it probably wont look much better after the cleaning job. Try to clean a smaller area first before committing to the whole roof, a few test areas will let you know if your're going to get the desired results.

If there's moss then that means there's shade.
Cut back some tree limbs, whole trees, or at least thin them out.

We have moss like you would not believe in the Northwest. Zinc strips work OK. Zinc Sulphate powder (moss-b-ware, moss out) works also. Generally the best idea is to kill it with zinc powder or a weak solution of bleach. then after a few months when it is all brown sweep it off, or use a garden hose (if you can walk on the roof) if it is too steep then most of it will come off in the rain.
