After all these years I just noticed that my 14.4 xrp drill with 14.4 batteries
I have an 18v charger w/tune up feature. The batteries charge but was wondering if I'm cooking my batteries by using the wrong charger?

Well, if you cook your old ni-cad batteries and then switch to the new lithium's you will be glad they died - the new lithiums are 5000% better. Last longer with more power and charge faster. If I were you I would just keep using what you have while you can. When they all fail, switch to lithium battery tools. I had some old cheap driver/drill with nicad batteries and I ended spending a lot more on that cheap driver in batteries than with my new nicad cordless drill. And my new Rockwell cordless drill will bore out many 3/8" holes through 3+ " of wood before running out of power.
