Hello,

We are in the process of redoing our back porch. The old structure was wood and most of it was all but rotten. As we removed most of it, we quickly learned that the gutter that was against the roof of the house is going to be difficult to remove. Our roof was redone 4 years ago, so they placed a layer of ice shield into the gutter and also some flashing. I do not know if it was supposed to be done this way, and well, it is too late. So, the other patio cover had its own gutter and will have its own gutter. We intended to remove the first line of gutter, but facing this new reveals, we are uncertain of the removal. So, what do you all say? How difficult can this be to be removed? What is the harm of leaving it there?
Thank you so much.

Can you post a pic of the area. Ice and water shield is easily cut with a razor knife if you need to remove it, but a pic would really help.

Absolutely. Sorry for not doing that in the first post.

The last picture shows that we can lift the gutter and thought that perhaps we can cut from below. Thoughts?

You should be able to feel the top of the gutter, I would cut the IS about 1/4 inch below that then when you have it cut right across, stand back and pull.

Thank you so much. We removed the gutter successfully and are now ready to finish preparations for the new patio cover. So, there is no need to have 2 gutters correct?
