Hello,

I am in the process of remodeling our kitchen. In one corner is the chimney. It has brick covered with plaster. The plaster has hairline cracks in it but other than that it seems sound.
I want to paint it but need to prep it first. Is it ok to put drywall mud on it and sand it smooth just like you would do with a wall?

Thanks,
Bill

Clean it up first with a damp rag, and use regular plaster skim coat. They sell it ,you just need to mix it in your own bucket.

And post Pics if you can, we love pictures.:D
