Brick veneer question

Hi all, is it safe to use brick veneer to the outside of my house? I have stupid t1-11 crap on most of the houses. I was interested in changing it. My question is most t1-11 does not have the tyvek underneath.To better waterproof the house do i put the veneer over the tyvek?

Check out Thinbrick thats made by General Shale Brick. They have not only the brick but a water containment system that weatherizes the outside of the house. It's specifically designed for what you are wanting to do.
