I have always painted my molding in the garage and then install and touchup. Bad thing is whe nI cut it I have to drag it back and forth to the saw.

I waa thinking that cutting and installing, then paint might be a better way.

Which method do you prefer??

Also,I use a brush most of the time. Would spraying be worth the time in masking and such??

Paint then install hands down! If you do a lot, spraying saves tons of time but not worthwhile because of cleanup for small jobs. I prefer stained/varnished vs. painted...but despise masking no matter what! Try using an old sheet (or think about the touch up an carry with care:rolleyes: ) if you bang it up dragging it around.

for me just ask some person who know this much better to paint and installing,

I always put at least one coat of paint on my molding before installing. I never spray because of the nusance and not to mention if you ding it at some point and need to touch it up and use a brush it will flash because brushes leave brush marks and sraying is quite smooth.

Before I stick it in,

One coat primer, one coat finish.

Then,

paint the cut ends with primer,

Install and second coat.

Don't forget to fill holes or caulk gaps as needed.
