Hi, well took the home depot surround back, had my contractor over and he said it will leak. The old tile was put up with mastic or some sort of adhesive, that was why i was having problems. I called him up after i started removing the old tile and discovered a wet subfloor and ants.
He recommended a custom surround using cultured marble which is very nice. He installs for a local manufacturer, it is realllly nice stuff, and he's done it before so he knows what to do. Now i'm just wondering what kind of floor to use. I do not want tile, could possibly lay down some linoleum. What other kinds of floor can i use in the bathroom? I think i saw some sort of vinyl tile at HD, think it was called Dura-loc???.(12 inch squares)
We are probably using our home owners insurance for this project, so i want to use quality materials that last and look nice. will post before and after pics. when done.
