I have 12 bricks to replace on fireplace, cannot find original bricks, so have to somehow copy the fieldstone impression onto flat bricks, & paint over.
Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks Bob
 
I would make 2 or 3 molds of different areas on the surface, using a bed of clay pressed against the bricks and then properly firing same in a kiln to harden them. Go at least 1/2" thick on the molds, or they will tend to crack during firing. Build a box form around each mold, apply some form release, and pour the concrete. Strip the forms and you're ready to install.
