Does any one has experience on how to cut and drill holes on a Very Thin 4" exhaust metal pipe and will not mis-shape it? :help:

Take your time, and or use a 2x4 block as backing.

Cut what? Shorter?
Use tin snips. Reshape any distortions with your hand.

use a hack saw to make a slit in the pipe, or a Sawzall,
open the slit with a screw driver,
then use your tin snips to cut the pipe in a circle.
tin snips have different colored handles
yellow is a straight cut
red is left-hand cut,
green is right hand

after you cut the pipe, you will need a crimping tool to make a crimp so the flex hose or pipe will fit over the pipe you cut
that looks to be a dryer vent, DO NOT use screws to hold the pipe together, screws catch lint and are a fire hazard
buy a roll of SILVER duct tape, not the regular gray duct tape

Thank you very much for all good and professional advises. Will do that carefully.

If that short piece will come out push the seam in to the center making the pipe an oval shape then a little more and the seam should come apart then cut the un crimped end to size with tin snips.

Or maybe taking that out altogether? With the soft flexible dryer vent it will be able to push back wherever? Not sure it's needed? Looks like it's 2 pieces? Unless he's got room to do a rigid vent?
