Which one is better to use with the membrane, to seal up leaks
around flat-roof, low-slope skylights?

The guy at the rubberized coating store said to use the membrane with
the elastomeric coating I bought from him, but my neighbor said using the thicker roof-patch, or crack-sealing paste would be better.

I'm in Arizona.

Look for comparability of materials first.

Certainly, yes.

It appears both the roof-patch and the coating are elastomeric
acrylic based.

But I would argue that the coating will be thinner, so will fill
into cracks better.

OTOH, the roof-patch can be built up thicker, and potentially stronger.
