Hi, i have an interior opening of about 47 1/8" with the frame, and 48 3/4" taking the frame out. There used to be 2 slider doors there. The guy that was doing work suggested a 48" double door for this opening, but i don't know. Is this a good spot for a double door or should i go with a big single? There is sheetrock on both sides. This door will go into our master bedroom.

I don't think hanging 2 doors on the existing frame would look too good. The doors would be smaller than 24" in width. I already ripped down the existing frame and will be purchasing a 32 or 36" door tomorrow.

Go with the look you like, and what works best. Keep the doors open all the time, or walk through a 24 inch space:D....the 36" is my recommendation.:)
