I read that some states use lead-paint for street-markings (ex. crosswalks) and to paint public objects like street-lights or benches, but the article didn't mention which do. I live in Illinois. Are road-markings, street lights, street-signs, fences, public benches, public dumpsters, etc... painted with lead-based paint in my state?

Are you paranoid about the paint in an exterior application that prevents any appreciable concentration? the old paints do not last long either.

Not paranoid, just curious.

Does anybody know which states use lead paint in their public projects?

Why does it matter? It's not like they pose any kind of a hazard in this setting.

I think the OP may be confusing lead paint with oil based paint, not an uncommon occurrence.
