I have a Compound Miter saw that has worked great for 3 years. In the past month, it loses power and slowly stops when it makes contact with wood. Not immediately, but in a few seconds. When this began to happen, I noticed that the automatic braking was no longer working properly either. Does anyone have any experience or ideas with such a problem? Thanks.

Check the brushes on the motor, to remove and change them it is usually a flatheaded screw of plastic that is built into the housing of the motor of the saw. I always just flip mine around and it gives you a few more years. Maybe google your saw and the word Brushes.
Hope this helps. Kind or like these
