We pay $3.35 for regular in the CT taxed to death state.

Figured I oughta stir sumthin up.:D

I drive a 1994 Ford F-150 FX4.
38 gallon tank gas hog for draggin around trailers, campers and workin on the farm...i need it.
The wife drives the new 2006 Ford Escape hybrid, Excellent vehicle with plenty of power.....and a 120 volt outlet.

38x3.35= $127.30 == OUCH

Regular was like 3.07 here yesterday when I topped off the escort and got lawnmower gas. I hope the gas prices do not go too much higher. My daily driver is a 1970 F-100 longbed. I am about to put an E-150 with a 460 on the road. I guess I gotta start driving the gokart (escort) back and forth to work more.

Yeah, and now Purdhoe Bay is being shut down. Look out, that's 8% of our usage, do you think that means another 8% increase at the pump? I think it means at least 15% increase. The producers have been trying every excuse to raise our gasoline prices above $3 a gallon; never to see $3 again.
This sounds like spam but I'm gonna put it out there anyway. Why curse the darkness, when you can light a candle? I have the business plan for Candle Energy which can convert pig manure, chicken litter and human sludge into diesel fuel or pure ethanol by simple chemical reactions. I have been working on this for about 3 years now but can't seem to get it off the ground.
Just think though, with all the mass chicken farms, hog production and the cities that are begging for a place for the sludge; how much of our dependence on foriegn oil we can replace. Using waste to make fuel, not food products like corn for ethanol or soybeans for diesel.

For those interested, I happened to come across this site yesterday:
http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_make.html#start

Not quite ready to try making biodiesel myself, but I'm keeping the possibility in my sites. We're selling one of our pick-ups and going down to one for the both of us, we just can't justify having something we can't afford to drive! Looking into mopeds now :D

PS-just paid 3.37/gal to fill up my truck here in MD

Oh, off topic, but I noticed the other day that bottled water costs as much or more than gas... seems strange to me! I still can't bring myself to buy water, I'll drink from the tap till it kills me...then maybe gov't will have a reason to clean up our waterways!

On Langley AFB gas as like 2.85 yesterday for regular and 2.95 for mid and 3.07 for premium. I haven't checked prices today. Those are gas prices on a military base though. Off base Hampton VA the prices are about 10 cents more. I drive a dodge ram 1500 and luckly I live three miles one way from work, cause I can't afford to go anywhere else with the bad city milage I get (10.3).

Well D when gas gets 'spensive seems like the taxes on it allways cause more of a fuss. I have heard that they only cover like 60% of road costs, so it is still better then having to pay a per mile fee that would actualy reflect the total cost of building and maintaining roads.

If we build less roads....less tax....problem is I live in Corrupticate.
We need to have more mass transit ...or better yet less sprawl.

Just a rant....pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.;)

Since when did a President really have any power with the fools running the House and Senate really decide.

That is why the Presidents usually have higher approval ratings than the Congress - Historically and today. Somehow the senators and congressman can get away with murder and are not called to answer indiviually even though the public does not trust them as a group.

I like the way you think, Mudmixer.

The other problem: Americans as a whole are too chicken to overthrow our corrupt government. Which by the way is a constitutional right given to us by our ''forefathers.'' They are litterally eating our lunch, and takeing our freedom one bill at a time, and were just sitting idley by and saying itll get better one day.

NEWS FLASH...you keep throwing steak at a lion hes gonna keep eating it. We keep letting the government screw us and they are going to keep doing it as long as it bennifits them.

Yup. here it's 3.75 and staying put for the week.
Post back after the ol' Ike hurrican hits Texas. Hope you folks are out of the way.:)
