I have an 12VAC source and need to control 1 light with 2 door mounted switches.

Is it a problem to connect the hot to the light and split the neutral and feed it to each switch, so that either switch activation will turn on the light?

These are plunger switches mounted in a 2-door cabinet.

You should not be switching the neutral. However at 12volts there is not really a neutral so you should be fine.

Hook it up just as you would a 120VAC, 3-way, light switch.
Google the wiring diagram and wire it up as instructed.
