Is there any safe way to connect single wall to triple wall except with a thimble? Thimbles are $150.
Can double wall be used through the ceiling/attic/roof or does it have to be triple wall?
 
Several years ago I bought some new triple wall at an auction.I went to the lumber yard to buy one more piece for the project and was told they could not sell it anymore.The triple wall was cooling the exhaust enough to build up creosote in the pipe causing flue fires.I think all double wall would be fine.You can check with your local building dept.
 
Code here requires triple wall anywhere the pipe goes through combustible areas.
 
reread that...dont they mean IF you do not have a 2" air space seperation from combustable material?


but if you have 2" air space, double wall is good to go?
