Please help! Years ago I painted an old vanity with off white melamine paint and want to repaint it white. They no longer sell melamine paint so I purchased a latex based cabinet paint. Washed with TSP and painted several times. Now, when you happen to touch the cabinet, the paint chips off in that spot. Any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks.

The melamine needs to be sanded and primed before painting, right after you scrape the loose paint off.
