On one of our houses we had a deck installed in August. Approximately 14' x 30', Elevated. 5 feet off the ground at house, to approximately 10 feet off the ground at the far end.
1. Western WA deck install, contractor used 6x6 cedar posts in concrete. From what I'm reading now, cedar in contact with moist soil will rot quite fast. The posts were stained, does that help? What kind of life should we expect? What would the life span be between pressure treated and rough sawn cedar (heartwood).
