I started to remove the vinyl flooring and the pad under neath it in my kitchen. This flooring is on top of nice hard wood floor. I can not get the tack type nails out of the floor left from the base pad from under vinyl floor. Is there anyway to get them out? Pulling with pliers is not working.

They make special plyers just for this but those nails are going to be ring shank nails and are going to leave craters when there pulled.
There called Tower Pincers for some reason. Lowes and HD both them in the tool dept.

If the plan was to save the flooring, this almost never works out. There's all most always a reason someone covered it up in the first place, stains, insect damage, coming loose, ect.

I am going to pull up the flooring and will need to get those nails out. What is the name of the special tool. Will decide what to do with the floor when t is up. Thanks for the information.
