When the shower is turned on in the bathroom, the water doesn't stop flowing from the tub faucet. In fact, it comes out of the faucet even more than the showerhead! Does anyone know how I can fix this? I know absolutely nothing about plumbing, so keep it simple, please. Thanks!!

If this the type of faucet that has the diverter valve on the the spigot then you may need to replace the spigot/valve. It should just unscrew. But be careful and use controlled force to remove it. If you have a third valve handle to turn on the shower then you may need a new washer or valve. If this is the case not only change the washer or valve but change the valve seat also, however this requires a special tool. Not real expensive and can be found at almost any DIY store.

If you have a 3 handle fixture you may need to replace the diverter or the seat and washer or if you have a 2 handle with a dub spout diverter you just need to replace the spout. You can remove the stems and look inside the body of the vavle and see the seats if the seats have wash out places or cracked they will need to be replced. as well as the seats good luck
