Hello group! First time poster.
The back porch portion or my house appears to be a late addition and the floor system was built from 2x6 on 24" centers. The floor has sag and bounce.
I've added extra 2x6 joists to reduce the 24" centers down to 12" centers, and added metal joist hangers to every connection. The joist system is laid out like this:
The horizontal joists connect to the perpendicular "beams" which are single 2x6 spanning about 8'. These tie into a 3-way beam junction (which is its own nightmare).
The spans on the two exterior set of joists are around 77". The span on the interior set of joists is around 91".
I'm looking for advice on the best way to add support under this joist system. The extra joists have helped reduce the bounce.
Would concrete block piers (sitting on 24"x24"x24" concrete pad) under the two perpendicular "beams" suffice?
How would you guys proceed?
Thanks!
