Hi. We have a 115-year-old home with the original thin strip oak floors in two rooms. The floor adds a lot of character to the home but needs to be refinished because it is really scratched and scuffed in some places. Unfortunately, it has been sanded too many times before, and probably can't be sanded any further (if you remove the floor grates you can see that it has been sanded down to the tongue and groove). Is there a way to refinish it without sanding? Would "screening" it work? We don't want to change the color, so we don't need to stain it.
