Im gutting and remodeling my 5x7 full bathroom this weekend. One lingering question pertains to the sheet rock methods. I've seen DuraRock used on many jobsites, but dont quite know the requirements. Since its such a small bathroom, am I safer just using DuraRock for the entire room, ceiling included?

The bath will have a surround as well, do i need to put any special sheetrock behind that? I realize that i need some sort of rock behind the surround to increase durability/stregnth.

Thanks ahead of time!

Concrete backer board on the floor and in the surround area where it will be subject to water and mold resistent drywall for the rest including ceiling. Upgrade the ceiling fan and insult the exhaust pipe and make sure it is used. And welome the site.

I was told that orange membrane underlayment can replace the concrete backer board. Is that true? It seems like it would be faster to install?
