1894 cypress Acadian Cottage in South Louisiana. It sits under a canopy of Live Oaks. It has no insulation and very thin walls. I haven't opened a wall up yet so I don't know how it was built. It's 1200 sq ft. ~350 of the interior is a second story loft.

We have 3 months where the average low is below 50F, 1 month below 40F. As far as highs, well you can imagine. Here's a couple of Pics:

You will want to do structure first, plumbing, HVAC, then wiring, then insulation. The attic is the best place to put insulation money first, the rafters are never deep enough over the room up there and the best is to make that part if the sloped ceiling 9" between the ceiling sheeting to the roof sheeting.
