I have a porch just off my front door about five feet off the ground consisting of a slab in the center with bricks bordering the outside edge. Under the porch is a complete room connected to the rest of the basement. Between the slab and brick there are leaks and water is coming through when it rains. What is the best way to repair this? a friend suggested backer-rod and a construction poly to fill the rest of the gap. Is this a good approach or is there a better option. I will post pictures to the forum for a better idea of the construction but any help would be much appreciated.
