Hey guys, I got a washing machine from a friend and i tried installing it myself. Everything went fine until i opened the faucets. They started to leak where the faucet knob is screwed into the faucet. Before this i had machine on it before and it would never do that. My uncle took that machine and i haven't plugged any other machine there for a few months and it barely started to do that. Am I going to have to replace the faucets?

Turn off the water in the house and unscrew the nut under the knob. Take the parts to your local plumbing store. they will help you with the washers and packing to repair this.

If it is leaking water from the area where the stem comes out and attaches to the knob you can try to snug up the nut. This will compress the packing around the stem. I have fixed many this way. You made need to pick up some new packing (thin rope) and repack the stem.

That's because the app is bugging out on my phone.

What I ment to say change it out for a compression shut off valve.
