Our remodeled stairs will have a nose section that comes factory stained to match the stained treads. While the finish on the treads carries a long finish warranty the nose section no finish warranty. After installation I'm wondering if I should apply a hardwood wax or a clear poly over the stair nose sections to provide increased protection.
