I have a GE side by side GSS25SGMD with ice maker and the cubes keep freezing together into a big lump. This is my first frig with IM and not sure if this is normal. I'm in Vegas and its not humid here. In the past 2 years I've replaced motherboard, temp sensors, defrost timer and condenser fan. Thanks

Could be that the defrost cycle is staying on too long and warms it up too much. The defrost thermostat could cause this if it isn't making contact with the refrigerant tubes or isn't cutting the system off at a certain temp. or if there is a door gasket leak.

Hi,

the cubes keep freezing together into a big lump

After how long?...a few days, weeks?
If left unused for a while the cube will freeze toegther....we use to dump ours out once a month and let it make new cubes.
Other trouble makers...
- high spike in temp during defrost
- wide temp switchs when the refrigerator is going on and off
- air leak
- icemaker is leaking water into the tray

jeff.

Check the door gasket by closing the door on a dollar bill and having it resist your pulling it out.
