Molds are fungi that grow in the environment and are helpful in biodegradation or natural decaying of dried leaves. They also play an important role in the production of various foods, antibacterial medications and drinks. Though how useful they may be in the environment, pharmaceutical companies and food market, molds still pose as a hazard to human health. Molds often lurk in places where we can’t see them, lurking behind our drywall rankling around our pipelines or seek refuge in our basements. They usually thrive in damp areas where there is less ventilation. Mold removal is not as easy as we think it is. It is a difficult process and can be conceivably dangerous when done the wrong way.

Mold Treatment

A respiratory mask, eye protection and gloves should be used when attempting to remove the problem. There are many products than can be used to remove the substance. The most common of them is bleach.

Bleach is mostly water. Mold on wood structures and parts of homes won't be easily killed by bleach. It might look like it is gone, but it also "bleaches" the mold. It is important to remove the structures with it or have it taken out somehow. The removal process itself might cause spores to be disturbed. This is probably why it cost so much to have mold removed from houses. If it is in your drywall you'll just rip that out .. but if it's in your attic on the studs and stuff, that's different!

To prevent mold from cultivating in your household, do random checking of your pipelines and basement for leaks and moisture and fix the problems as soon as possible if there are any.
