Thinking of taking down a small wall which protrudes from the middle of one wall and ends in the middle of the room. There is a hot air register in the floor right where that wall ends so if I take down that wall, the register would then be in the middle of the room. I do have wood floors, just not sure how hard it is to move the register closer to another existing wall. I would get a professional to redo the ductwork and new register, my concern is repairing the wood floor where the old register was. Thanks.

If it wasn't damaged enough, I think the repair wouldn't be a big problem.
