We want to add a 2 car garage to the back of our split foyer home. We currently have a single car garage on the side. We have no room on the side to widen it, so we plan to tear it down and build a garage, oriented sideways to the back. We've drove around looking for examples and scoured the internet but can't find any pictures of something like this. We were first thinking we'd dig down to match depth of the the house, but haven't heard anything positive about this and it would require excavating the existing drive and backyard to take away the slope into the garage. Anyone have any pictures of rear addition garages or suggestions. I know most people say we should just move but are location is the best you can get.
