I want to get a palm sander. Do cordless ones exist? I have a Dewalt cordless set; do they make one?

Virtually all the major vendors offer cordless palm and orbital sanders.

Per Dewalt's webpage, they don't have them. Pneumatic and corded, but no cordless. Ryobi does in the 18v lineup.

I was pretty surprised when I went looking. Tried big orange and big blue and didn't come up with anything in Dewalt's line. Tried Amazon and still nothing. My guess is the battery life isn't that great for a tool that is designed to be run constantly for a fairly long time. I rarely use a sander where a cord is a problem.

I've never seen one. I can see how they could be pretty handy!

While they are not random they are extremely versatile.

Palm Sander would commonly be used more for flat panels. Oscillating Tool Sander more fore spot sanding. Having said that, I agree that the oscillating tool and sanding attachment is very versatile. Gives you great control when trying to sand a small area. I have been reworking some cabinets recently and have been using the oscillating tool sanding attachment commonly.
