How to take care of burn mark?

I have a candle catch on fire on this bathroom counter. I don't know what the material is - can you tell? I'm trying to learn more about my house - especially how to clean it!

Does anyone know how to remedy this burnt in mark on the counter?

It might be Corian

The burn would not be near as deep as the scratch in that video. Start with a scotchbrite pad and perhaps a little Bar Keeper's Friend or Softscrub.

I've heard some folks have success just by using toothpaste as a poultice.

You can also try 3m brand rubbing compound. It's made for auto paint but works well on a lot of surfaces.
