Default Cracks in dry wall

Noticed some cracks above this window in m dry wall. Cracks are very thin. One is about a foot long the other about 6 inches. Any idea on the cause? House is 10 years old. Cracks have been there for a while now. They go straight up at a 90. Name: ImageUploadedByHome Repair1501292082.380086.jpg

Looks like the joint in the drywall. I would tape, mud, sand & paint.

I doubt if it is serious.

I'm a little worried, though. I have one room and hallway in which the floors have a slight slope and in the adjacent room there is a small hump in the carpet. This hump can be felt when walked on but not visible with the naked eye

CB, a little info...type of construction, brick, siding? On a slab, crawl space, full basement, townhome? Are the neighbors experiencing the same issues?
