Particle board sub flooring, laminate is a wet area, there's a disaster waiting to happen.

If you remove just one more board of the laminate, I think you would be able to fit a transition (or a saddle) in the doorway. Don't bother putting laminate back in the bath, even if it's only a washroom. You have the opportunity to do it right with a vinyl product or tile.

And it sure looks like particle board to me. If it is, replace it now also.

Yep folks, I took that subfloor out completely and put in plywood to replace it. I felt much better about that.
