Default Changing color of bricks or removing them?

I am buying a house that has LOTS of bricks -- walls, alongside the house, and half of the backyard has brick on the ground.

1. Is there something easy I could do to change the color or appearance of the bricks on the ground?

2. How difficult of a job is it to remove bricks from the ground if I want to replace it with grass?

Attached is a picture of bricks on the ground.

I think you can buy stains made for brick and for removing it, I would dig around the edge a little and see if they are layed on a concrete slab.
