Hi there, I am new to this Forum and I'm glad I found it as I want to do the majority of the repairs in our home my wife and I just bought. It was an Estate Sale and it is a older home (1985) but in very good shape. Just needs a little updating. I want to take the old popcorn ceilings down and go back with a more up to date texture ceiling. Can someone point in the right direction to how to remove the old ceiling and going up with the new one?

If the popcorn ceilings are in good shape you could think about putting a foam glue up ceiling tile right over them. They are very affordable and look great. It should also be a lot less work then trying to take down the whole ceiling.
