I have a staircase that I would like to make it either curve or bend 1/3 down from the top. However, what would be the cost to do this? I don't think I can do it myself.

Or, can I just take out about 3-5 steps from the bottom, create a bend and a landing, and then install the steps back so that the stairs have a bend?

I am posting here in the general discussions to see if I can get more replies to this question.

You basically have three sections of stairs. The upper and lower straight parts and bend part. You would need to independently support the upper and lower sections which should also then support the bend.

This is not a project for someone who has never worked with stairs before.
