Default MiracleGro--your results may vary?????

I just finished a little expriment. I set out six tomato plants and applied MG, as directed, to three plants and side dressed the others with Nitrogen. This was done after a soil test that showed that I only needed Nitrogen.
Fast forward and the tomatoes that received Nitrogen have twice as many tomatoes, they are larger, but the plant is not nearly as pretty as the other three that received MG.
I guess MG is better suited for house plants--IN MY OPINION
