I've hung a Jeld Wen custom pantry door with full view glass. If I install a "standard" knob, it has a 2-3/8" backset, which places the knob/escutcheon plate well off center to the left in the stile, nearly to the edge of the stile.

If I could find a set with ~ 1-3/4" backset, then it would be centered in the stile and look much better. I can't use anything antique or exotic looking. Just looking for a satin nickel round knob, so as to match the rest of the hardware in the kitchen.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of this type of hardware?

The trick is to use a dumby door knob and spring catch to hold the door closed. These are available at hardware stores and most compnies make dumby sets.
