Default Shallow can lighting

Hello,

My wife and I are in the middle of a kitchen remodel (this one is stressing me out big time). Anyway, the floor joists for the second floor are only 5.5" deep, add to that another .75" for 1x boards and I only have about 6.25" of space for can lights. Do they make can lights that will fit in there?

Thanks again for all the help I have recieved on this site.

Yes but it will be tight ... You can get 6" recessed lights

However, you can get even shallower fixtures ...

OR, the wave of the future being LED lights (with 50,000 hours of life) might be your choice:
