So we had this old wet bar area in this house we just bought and it has some damage all along the bottom. Pic below. I plan on just using some wood siding to hide the gaps between the wall and the stone piece they used, but was wondering about the front corners. What would be the best way to go about repairing that area? Just throw some mud in there to fill it in and let it harden, then sand and paint?
This is what I would use. You need to make sure you tool it smooth before it gets too hard. Works great for filling holes and such.
I also like that it's in a powder form so 6 months from now you won't have a dried out container of spackle.
Looks like there is metal corner bead on the OS corners that has come loose to begin with.Filling these gaps along the edge of it will not hold up.The bead needs to be taken off and replaced correctly.Cut the OS leading edge around the stone to make it fit right. The gaps above the stone can be filled with some Durabond or water putty if you want to go the quick and easy route or covered with some trim and caulked.
