After smoothing out my bathroom walls and ceiling with joint compound, I'm ready to prime and paint. I'm using Zinsser bulls eye 123 primer and it says it dries to the touch after 30 minutes and additional coats can be applied after 1 hour. It also says full adhesion and hardness come after 7 days. However, it doesn't say when to paint-after an hour, after 7 days, somewhere in between??

The 123 will work fine and can usually be top coated after 2 to 3 hours if absolutely necessary. Overnight will be just fine. BTDT with 123 and equivalent products literally many hundreds of times.
