Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to offer me a suggestion to repair this area of brick on our house.

We recently bought the house and were told there was an "out of control BBQ party" that caused the burnt brick. The rust is from an oil pipe that was removed when we put in a new gas furnace.

Anyone have any ideas to get the brick back to its awesome vomit orange colour? I tried scrubbing with soap and water to not much avail.

Thanks so much!

Try applying a rust remover such as Boeshield Rust Free, Singerman Concrete Rust Remover or oxalic acid on the stain to remove the rust from the brick. You may need to dilute it with water before applying so read the instructions. Some rust removers may need to sit on the brick for a specified period of time to work on the rust stain.

Another cheap rust remover is "The Works".
Any Dollar Store, Wal-Mart has it.
I'd be trying an Orange Cleaner or Simple Green to get the burned marks off.
