The drain pipe was installed right through these studs without boring holes or any type of reinforcement.

Short or removing the studs and replacing with new, what are my options?

I can replace the jack stud, but still leaves the king and trimmer.

Best advice I got, was to fill the gaps and use a mending plate.

Any other options?

Please note I cannot partially sister the king stud due to the drain line and vent pipe coming up right next to it. The house is on a slab so I cannot relocate them.

You can fill the gap with block , just a peice of 1/2 plywood across everthing on the side wood help hold it together The drain can come straight out and run thru the back of the cupboard, I would do the same with the copper so you can get insulation in the wall.
And welcome to the site.

Thanks for the welcome!

The second floor is above. It is a two story home.

I would have shot the plumber to start with.I keep telling these guys that pvc and copper do not hold the structure up.They never seem to understand.
